Paddle

A toy for use in impact play, usually made of wood, leather, lexan or a combination of the three. Ideally, a paddle spreads the impact over a large surface, but is heavy enough to give a solid thud.

The art of the paddle is in the swing.  A quick flick with the wrist is not satisfactory to the recipient of the paddle.  It should be done with a flourish, it should carry it's sound as it is brought forward to a what sounds like a mighty "whack".  Because it is large and spreads the impact, the pain is not near as much as the anticipation would indicate.
